Teen Fiction Discussion Group

As well as our KS2 Reading For Pleasure Group we also run a book group whose focus is on Teen Fiction.

The group is open to all High School Librarians and teachers, and this term we will experiment and open it to a wider audience of eager readers on the staff of Norfolk Library and Information Service. We meet once a term after school and have starting using telephone conferencing to make sure as many people as possible can participate, and have what is always a lively, yet relaxed and informal meeting to review six recently published paperbacks that we feel are particularly suited to young people.

The School Library Service select new, interesting fiction for all ages and across the genres and we keep you informed of Teen Fiction Awards, new trends and series and those books that you might not otherwise get to know about – those that are a little bit different but will hopefully appeal to your students.

This group is free for schools who are customers of the School Library Service. The books we review are obtained through libraries or booksellers  by the attendees.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday 3 December 2013 – 3.30pm to 4.30pm. This will be a conference call. If you have participated in a conference call you will know how easy it is and how much you can get out of talking with a group of colleagues. If not – why not give it a try! Go on!
