If you’ve ever visited our Mobile Library then you may (or may not!) have seen our unofficial mascot, SLS Ted, accompanying our assistant Tony on his trips to schools around the county.
Recently, Ted took a trip to Asia where he travelled from Singapore, through Thailand, across to Bali and then back before heading home to Norwich. Thankfully, he went armed with his camera…
He took the train to the airport and after a quick flight found himself exploring Singapore; he found there was a writer’s festival taking place!
Even though he was on his holidays, Ted still found time to do some reading: not only did he use our SLS eBook platform to download a book or two, he also visited the impressive National Library in Singapore, which has an amazing children’s library- Ted felt right at home!
After a ride on the Orient Express, Ted visited the Erawan Waterfall near Kanchanaburi, crossed the Bridge over the River Kwai and popped into a museum to learn a bit more about the historic railway.
After a quick trip to Bali, Ted headed back to Singapore and using the guidebook he’d borrowed from the Norfolk and Norwich Millennium Library, he popped to the shops to get a few souvenirs before heading home to the UK.
Thanks for telling us all about your trip, Ted- we’re really impressed you managed all that travelling by yourself…!
